Your job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our Middle Years Programme (MYP) team. As a PE teacher at Rivers, you will have the opportunity to teach students a variety of sports, helping them develop their physical skills, teamwork, and understanding of how to stay active and healthy.
Your lessons will cover team sports such as basketball, football, and volleyball, as well as individual activities and outdoor sports. You will work with MYP students to teach them not only the technical aspects of these sports but also the value of regular physical activity and the importance of working together as a team.
Through a variety of sports and team activities, you’ll create an environment where students can challenge themselves, develop discipline, and build self-confidence. Your lessons will encourage them to stay active, improve their skills, and understand the role of teamwork in both individual and group sports.
Our gym facilities at Rivers
Our modern and well-equipped gymnasium provides an excellent environment for physical education. The facility includes climbing frames, basketball hoops, rings, vaulting boxes, and a variety of sports equipment. The specially designed sports floor ensures optimal performance and safety, creating the perfect setting for engaging and dynamic PE lessons.

You have the energy and enthusiasm to engage students, helping them thrive not only in sports but also as confident and motivated individuals. As an English native or near-native speaker, you bring strong communication skills to the classroom. Most importantly, you’re excited about working with a diverse group of international students who bring new perspectives and challenges to every lesson. You are committed to ensuring that your lessons are always conducted safely, providing clear instructions and maintaining a structured environment where students can confidently explore and develop their physical abilities.

We offer…
We offer you an exciting work environment with attractive employment conditions, in accordance with cao vo, starting immediately (start date negotiable).
- You will receive a temporary contract for 0.5 FTE, for the duration of the replacement until July 5 2025.
- The function is based on your knowledge and experience. This means you will be scaled in at scale LB, starting at € 3.463, – and ending at € 5.277, – per month (cao vo gross per month based on a fulltime employment).
- A standard travel allowance as per cao, a good and attractive pension plan, 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8,33%, and free time during holidays.
- A personal budget of 90 hours with a full-time employment. You can use this as desired. For example, you have the option to exercise, an extra day off for a weekend away, shopping at Coolblue, Bol.com etc.
- Your personal development is important for us. That is why we have created our own academy, named Quriuz. You can follow various masterclasses and workshops. Next to it, you can also follow professional development or receive coaching.

Your profile
You are a first-degree qualified physical educator, and you are an English native or near-native speaker.
