We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Coordinator to join the secondary team at the European School The Hague.
In this part-time role, you will play a key part in fostering a school culture that embraces and celebrates diversity. You will collaborate closely with the Support Coordinators for Academics and Social-Emotional Wellbeing, as well as the wider pastoral and academic teams, to ensure that our school remains a safe, inclusive and equitable environment for all students and staff.

As a Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic coordination and leadership:
Coordinate school-wide DEIB efforts by chairing the DEIB Committee, aligning initiatives with school priorities and setting annual goals. Monitor progress and report updates to the leadership team and the wider school community.
- Inclusive Practice and Student Engagement:
Support the integration of inclusive practices in teaching, student leadership and school life. Support the formation of student groups focused on DEIB and collaborate with pastoral staff to embed DEIB principles into safeguarding, behaviour and well-being frameworks.
- Awareness, Events and Communications:
Organise school-wide awareness initiatives (e.g. cultural heritage weeks and Black History Month) and lead proactive DEIB communications to share progress and engage the school community.
- Staff development and policy review:
Identify staff training needs in collaboration with leaders and external specialists and support the review of school policies and communications through an inclusive lens.
- Community Support and Guidance:
Act as a point of contact for identity-related concerns among staff and students, ensuring that issues are addressed appropriately and sensitively.

- Enjoy competitive benefits. We offer a salary in line with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement (CAO VO). For a full-time contract on OOP scale 11, the salary is a minimum of €3,484 and a maximum of €6,149. The step on the scale offered will depend on your level of experience.

What we’re looking for:
- Experience of leading or supporting DEIB initiatives in an educational, community or organisational setting.
- Passion for promoting DEIB awareness.
- The ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and act with empathy and discretion.
- An understanding of inclusive educational practices and student well-being.
- Proficiency in English at C1 level (CEFR); proficiency in other EU languages is advantageous.
- Experience in international or multilingual schools is advantageous.
- Additional languages and a relevant degree (e.g. in education, the social sciences, psychology or intercultural studies) would be advantageous, but are not required.
- Living in the Netherlands
