The Expertise Center Education Care on Saba has a multi-disciplinary team and offers specialized support and guidance for Day Care, Primary School, Secondary School, BSO and After School Care. Do you want to play a significant role for the educational care system? Do you like variety, teamwork and flexibility?

 
Your responsibilities as a director will be:

• Offer a coherent system of education care services supporting students, teachers and parents.
• Secure a comprehensive and continuous offer of education care services for ages 3 – 23.
• Execute and guard the education care system and integral policy for inclusive education.
• Give direction with the board and EC2 team to meaningful education for all and step in when necessary.
• Implement and promote inclusive education
• Handle the field of tension between urgency and competencies in a complex environment
• Give EC2 a connecting role within the relevant network and with the stakeholders
• Be the example in transparent and respectful communication with students and parents

 
These responsibilities are supplemented with management tasks and educational tasks.
Management task:

• Coordinate and manage care services, and promote equal opportunities for all students
• Foster a collaborative work environment for the EC2 team
• Facilitate and advise board and stakeholders
• Financial management and accountability
• Application of a cyclical system of quality management
• Connect participating partners

 
Educational tasks

• Develop and implement the multi-annual Education Care Plan Saba that complies with legal requirements
• Promote the action-oriented perspective
• Use long and short term educational planning
• Perform educational assessments and placement testing for all ages, or step in when necessary
• Facilitate training for the EC2 team

 
Requirements for the position

• Relevant degrees in (special) pedagogy and/or educational sciences
• Ample work experience as an educational manager and/or in Special Education
• Able and qualified to perform educational assessments
• Have knowledge of the current student care system on Saba (based on the Dutch system)
• Good communication and connecting skills
• Fluent in English and Dutch

 
This vacancy is for 40 hour working week. The selection process will include the candidate providing a VOG with an educational profile and a reference check.
