You need to be:

• able to plan and create the primary and secondary annual school timetables and daily school timetables according to defined parameters;
• able to signal to and advise Leader of Systems and Technology on the timetable consequences of student number and (educational) policy trends;
• able to identify long-term implications and opportunities of the timetables to the leadership team;
• able to ensure that deadlines are met, information is accurate, relevant people are informed and that current policies and procedures are followed;
• able to ensure an up-to-date inventory of school space and allocate classrooms and other areas and to inform appropriate people;
• able to monitor the resolution of timetabling and booking conflicts or problems;
• working closely with the leadership team under the direction of the Leader of Systems and Technology;
• flexible and open to new ideas;
• fluent in spoken and written English, Dutch is a bonus;
• able to start work daily at 6:30am (work days end at 15:00);
• able to work efficiently under pressure during peak moments of the school year.

You need to have:

• experience with daily and annual timetabling processes;
• experience with advising school leadership teams on annual timetabling;
• experience working with timetable programs, Untis is an advantage;
• experience working with formation programs, Foleta is an advantage;
• basic knowledge about the CAO Onderwijs (PO/VO);
• experience with the administration and registration of particular data related to the timetabling process (e.g. availabilities, cover, special leave);
• excellent attention to detail;
• strong communication skills and ability to function well within a team;
• eligibility to work and live in the Netherlands. Please note that we cannot sponsor candidates from abroad.

About the AICS
The AICS is the first Dutch International Primary and Secondary School in Amsterdam. Together with a number of other schools we form the ‘Esprit Scholen’.  The AICS is subsidised by the Dutch government, which enables us to deliver high quality education at competitive fees. The AICS is a school for international education that is accredited by the Council of International Schools and focuses on children from international backgrounds. Currently the school offers primary education to students aged 4 – 10 and secondary education to students aged 11 – 19. The main language of instruction for classes is English. After several moves since the start of the school in 2003, the AICS is now located in three buildings: Main (primary and secondary, around 1100 students), Satellite (primary only, around 200 students) and South East (primary and secondary, around 300 students).
